Referring to the new offering, Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said that Yellowfin on Azure would allow organizations of any size, and users of all types, to quickly and easily access enterprise-grade BI.
“We have seen a marked increase in the number of direct clients and partners looking to implement and offer Yellowfin as a cloud-based deployment on Azure,” said Rabie. “By collaborating with Microsoft to provide an official Yellowfin on Azure offering, we’re delivering on the accessibility and affordability aspects that people love about the cloud.
“Not only can users take advantage of this free offer straight away, the extreme scalability of both solutions means it’s easy to upgrade at any time, to start performing Big Data Analytics quickly and cost-effectively, and seamlessly scale throughout the enterprise. Yellowfin on Azure provides the technical and financial accessibility to enable anyone to spin-up an instance and start performing intuitive data analysis and creating insightful BI content in just minutes.”
“More and more companies are dealing with large, complex data issues and are in need of BI solutions,” said Nicole Herskowitz, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Azure. “We are delighted that Yellowfin’s BI platform is now available in the Azure Marketplace.”
Yellowfin Director of Product Marketing, John Ryan, added that, together, Azure and Yellowfin provided a security-enhanced and scalable environment for software companies and consultancies looking to create managed Software as a Service (SaaS) BI solutions for multiple clients.
“Yellowfin and Azure offer an ideal environment for BI software resellers and consultancies to take advantage of growing cloud adoption in the BI industry, and provide fully-managed hosted Yellowfin environments for their clients on the Azure Marketplace,” said Ryan. “With Yellowfin’s multi-tenant capabilities, and Azure’s range of virtual hardware options, it’s possible to build a hosted BI environment to satisfy the unique demands of any organization.”
“As a 100 percent Web-based and single-integrated BI solution, Yellowfin is designed from the ground-up for cloud-based deployment,” added Rabie. “Yellowfin will allow customers on the Azure Marketplace to quickly and independently build and share unlimited BI content on any device – reports, dashboards or Storyboards.”
“Yellowfin has obviously invested heavily in cloud BI and was early to market with its solution,” said Founder and CEO of BARC, Dr Carsten Bange. “Yellowfin’s cloud-based clients reported strong achievement of the business benefits sought from their BI implementations.”
The BI Survey 14 also noted Yellowfin’s flexible licensing model and cloud-based deployment options as factors contributing to its cloud BI success.
“Yellowfin supports deployments as SaaS in traditionally hosted environments or in the cloud, supporting either multi-database or multi-tenancy environments,” stated the report. “Its flexible subscription-based pricing model helps in this area.”
